1st SET Steering Group meeting

The PAREMA Steering Group meeting on November 8, 2023, provided an opportunity to discuss the progress and prospects of the partnership with a wide range of participants. On the German side, discussions were led by Mr. Dominik Schnichels, Managing Director of BMWK's Commercial Department, in the presence of, among others, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Robert Dölger, and a BMZ official. The Moroccan delegation was led by Mr. Abdelaali Lefdaoui, Acting Secretary General of MTEDD's Energy Transition Department.    

Interest was expressed in cooperation on the decarbonization of the energy sector and, in particular, the legal framework and financing, as well as the mitigation of the socio-economic consequences of a premature phase-out of coal. The implementation of the SET roadmap (integration of electrical systems), the deepening of cooperation in the hydrogen sector and the development of strategic partnerships between Germany and Morocco in the field of technical training in the energy professions were also discussed.
