Moroccan and German financial sectors meet in Casablanca to finance green hydrogen
On May 24, a one-day exchange between Moroccan and German entrepreneurs* and decision-makers* was organized in Casablanca by the Casablanca Finance City, Frankfurt Main Finance and the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft. In particular, the event focused on the theme of financing green hydrogen. At the round table "Financing and investing in green hydrogen projects", Klas Heising, team leader for renewable energies and green hydrogen / Power-to-X at GIZ in Morocco, presented the German technical cooperation approach to reducing financial risks with the goal of encouraging investment, reducing costs and increasing the sector's competitiveness in Morocco. The discussion was led by Tarik Hamane (MASEN), Samir Rachidi (Cluster GreenH2 / IRESEN) and Janne Rajpar (KfW) and moderated by Christoph Kannengießer (Afrikaverein).
