Strong German Presence at the World Power-to-X Summit 2025 in Marrakech
Marrakech hosted, on October 1st and 2nd, 2025, the fifth edition of the World Power-to-X Summit, held under the theme “Together, powering the global energy transition.”
Thanks to its exceptional solar and wind resources, Morocco is now positioning itself as a key player in green hydrogen production. According to MASEN projections, the Kingdom could cover more than 4% of global demand by 2030. With its “Offre Maroc” program, Morocco demonstrates its ambition to build a competitive and sustainable hydrogen economy and to become a regional and international energy hub.
The World Power-to-X Summit brought together experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to share the latest developments in hydrogen and Power-to-X technologies. Discussions highlighted research, innovation, and partnerships essential to accelerating the global energy transition.

The Summit was marked by a strong presence from the German private sector. In this context, ahead of the event, a Morocco-Germany reception launched the discussions. Organized by PAREMA, in cooperation with the German Embassy in Rabat and AHK Maroc, the event gathered 18 German companies to exchange with representatives from the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (MTEDD), MASEN, and IRESEN.
The evening was opened by Mr. Sebastian Bantle, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Rabat, Mr. Ahmed Bouzid, Director General for Energy and Mineral Production Development at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, and Mr. Christoph Rauh, Director for Africa at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
As a dialogue platform between public and private sectors, PAREMA plays a key role in connecting economic stakeholders from both countries around energy and Power-to-X projects.
This networking evening set the tone for a dynamic cooperation, preceding two intense days of debates on Power-to-X. The continuity and depth of the partnership between the two countries were also highlighted in a video address by Mr. Stefan Rouenhoff, Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). Germany also stood out during the plenary session dedicated to the harmonization of Power-to-X policies, with Mr. Christoph Rauh from BMZ taking part in the panel discussion.
Several side events, organized by GIZ, KfW, H2Global, and AHK Maroc, also tackled key topics such as green hydrogen financing and the role of the private sector in this global energy transition.
