Progress in reforming the electricity sector

In line with the unbundling objective, the national electricity company ONEE is to separate its activities in terms of accounting for the generation, operation of the electricity transmission grids, and operation of the electricity distribution grids in the future. This will enable each part to focus on increasing the efficiency of its core activity. The regulatory authority ANRE has created a further basis for the accounting separation of ONEE's activities, so that power generation and distribution grids can be transferred to other institutions. The aim of this is to enable private investment in distribution grids and generation.
