Moroccan-German Workshop/Iftar: The Energy Transition Is Also a Matter of Female Talent

As part of International Women’s Rights Day and the holy month of Ramadan, the Moroccan-German Energy Partnership (PAREMA) brought together around twenty participants from public institutions, companies, and organisations active in the energy sector for a workshop/Iftar on March 9 in Casablanca.

The event, organised in close cooperation with AHK Morocco, highlighted the strategic role of women in Morocco’s energy transition, showcased inspiring career paths, and identified concrete levers to strengthen female participation in the sector.

The meeting was officially opened by Ms. Badiaa Gueroui, Director of Strategy, Forecasting, Foresight and Cooperation at the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. This was followed by a keynote speech from Ms. Najlae Yazghi, CEO of Siemens Energy Morocco, who shared her professional journey and her experience in leading strategic energy projects.

An interactive session moderated by Ms. Kenza Bounjou (URITI) then addressed several key themes, including strengthening female talent and skills in technical and energy engineering professions, leadership and governance challenges, and the impact of diversity on performance and innovation in energy projects.

The workshop concluded with a convivial Iftar, offering participants an opportunity for informal discussions and networking.

Through these focused discussions among key female actors in the sector, the meeting helped identify avenues for action to promote the integration and advancement of women within the value chains of Morocco’s energy transition.
