Presentation of a new study on the decarbonization of industrial zones

On 28 May, a study on the potential for decarbonization of energy-intensive industries in Morocco using hydrogen was presented by the Reiner Lemoine Institut and Arepo with the support of MASEN in the presence of the Moroccan and German private sectors. Possible technical options were presented for the iron and steel, cement and aluminum industries and a multi-criteria analysis of the use of hydrogen as an energy carrier was carried out. The case studies examined show that the greatest potential lies in steel production. The study is currently being prepared for publication.
