Morocco’s Green Hydrogen Strategy: New Strategic Milestones Approved

Under the presidency of the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, the steering committee for the "Morocco Offer" on green hydrogen met on September 17, 2025, in Rabat. 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee approved the completion of the preliminary phase of the Chbika 1 project and authorized the signing of preliminary land reservation agreements for five national and international investors. This decision secures the land required for the development of six major projects, representing a total investment of 319 billion dirhams. 

The Head of Government welcomed this momentum and emphasized the importance of integrated infrastructure planning in order to strengthen Morocco’s position as a key player in the green hydrogen sector, both regionally and internationally. 

As a reminder, the Chbika project, launched in October 2024 during the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is the first project to be activated under the framework of the "Morocco Offer".
