Private Sector Workshop: What Tools Can Promote Investment in Morocco’s Energy Sector?

The Morocco-Germany Energy Partnership (PAREMA) brought together around ten Moroccan and German companies active in the energy sector for a workshop held in Casablanca titled “ Challenges and Success Factors for the Private Sector in Morocco’s Energy Sector” , organised in close cooperation with AHK Morocco.

Held on January 29, 2026, the workshop aimed to create a space for direct exchange between private actors to share field experiences, identify opportunities in the Moroccan energy market, and discuss key challenges in developing projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

A presentation on the state of the Moroccan energy market by Mr. Rabii Waadoud, founder of the Societe Marocaine d'Audit Efficacite Energetique (SMAEE), highlighted the growth prospects offered by the national energy transition.

The discussions, moderated by Ms. Nazha Zidani of GENERIZON, also emphasized the potential of Moroccan-German cooperation to support the private sector, notably through technical expertise sharing, access to green financing instruments, and skills development.

The discussions contributed to a better understanding of the success factors for private sector projects in the energy sector in Morocco.
